Russell Brownley is a filmmaker from the East Coast now living in San Diego. For the past five years he has spent his life traveling the globe making documentaries independently and for various television stations and non-profit organizations. His most recent projects have included “Heart of a Soul Surfer”, a documentary about Bethany Hamilton, “Walking On Water”, a story of two young surfers as they go on a dream trip around the world, “Dare Not Walk Alone”, a civil rights documentary about St. Augustine, Florida and most recently “Day of Light”, a documentary about a community of people living in a trash dump Nicaragua.

Russell’s passion comes from telling stories of people across the globe. From a trash dump in Nicaragua, to a low-income area in Northeast Florida, to a television spot in California, stories come from the hearts of people… and those are the stories that I want to tell.
